About The San Diego Watercolor Society
SDWS enjoys a beautiful, inspirational setting at the NTC Promenade.
A gallery, an education center for workshops and classes, a reference and instructional resource for watermedia artists: this is the San Diego Watercolor Society.
The San Diego Watercolor Society hosts an acclaimed international exhibition each year, which attracts artist entries from around the world and hundreds of visitors to view the exceptional artwork on display. But award-winning art and internationally acclaimed artists are only part of our story. We are also an important supporter of arts education for all ages. As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, SDWS offers a variety of services for educational institutions in the San Diego area. (See Education.)
Our monthly PRISM newsletter is considered the premier publication of its type. Available online in full-color and in a black and white print version (mailed on request).
The PRISM newsletter is a prime of watermedia news about member activities, workshops, membershows, and paintouts.
Thousands of visitors visit the SDWS gallery each year. Our First Friday receptions attract art lovers by the hundreds.
On the First Friday of each month, The San Diego Watercolor Society hosts a reception to present the month's new exhibition. From as many as 200 pieces entered, the juror selects the top 100 for exhibition and sale.
