SDWS and 8 major watercolor organizations, located west of the Mississippi, make up the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies (WFWS). Each year a different organization hosts the Exhibition and SDWS will host it in May 2009. Entry is open to members of the Federation Societies and is juried by a well known artist.
Congratulations to SDWS award winners at WFWS 33, 2008. Our SDWS member artists made a particularly strong showing this year winning 5 of the 21 cash and merchandise awards. Betty Hock brought home a merchandise award, Roni Sumer won an Honorable Mention, Marija Kae Rodriquez won an Award of Merit, Mary Higuchi was honored with the David Gale Memorial Award and for the second year in a row, Stan Goudey took Best of Show.
