Respond to the Paint
Loose, luminous, experimental starts inspire creative ideas and solutions as watercolor or fluid acrylic flow . . Students will learn techniques for beginning freely, and then gently disciplining the results so that they can become finished, well-designed and out-of-the-ordinary paintings. Class will include flexible planning, analyzing and applying design, and making changes by paint removal and covering areas with opaque media or collage paper. Students will make several experimental starts, choose one, and then work toward completing it. They may pursue their own images or follow the instructor’s lead.
Experience Level: Some experience in the chosen medium will be helpful, but brave beginners are also welcome.

“The sights around me and the images and thoughts in my head guide my hand as I apply the paint, and the flowing paint evokes new images, relationships, and truths which become a part of the art. Each painting is a combination of past experience and present discovery.“
