Learn how to paint with fluidity in watercolor. Carter will demonstrate technique of wet, loose watercolor through demonstration. Each day begins with a uniquely tailored lesson to inspire.  She will discuss color, water, design, and value.  The brilliance of color and the purity of paint application will be emphasized. Carter will provide a tutorial that everyone can follow. The step-by-step instruction allows ample time to observe paint application and then individual painting. A finished painting is completed each day. She will discuss color, water, design, and value.

The days will be devoted to individual instruction and an afternoon group critique. Classes are informal and discussions are lively and entertaining. Discussion about marketing and using social media to build your career. Questions, curiosity and camaraderie are a must! 

Carol Carter is an internationally renowned American artist whose work has been exhibited in six countries and published worldwide. She has won numerous international prizes for her work. She received her MFA from Washington University, St. Louis. She was awarded a MAA-NEA Fellowship in Painting and Works on Paper in 1994 and was voted Best St. Louis Artist by The Riverfront Times in 2000. The US Embassy sponsored a solo exhibition of her work at the Teatro del Centro de Arte, in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 2003. She was Artist-in-Residence for the Everglades National Park [AIRE] in 2010. She developed the Everglades Series exhibition based on this study. In 2011, she participated in ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI at 5/3 Bank as well as, Watercolor USA, Springfield, MO. Two watercolors were chosen for the Montenegro Embassy collection for 2019-2023. he was guest artist and symposium speaker for the American Women Artists Symposium at the Steamboat Springs Art Museum, Steamboat Springs CO in 2019. Carter was elected Master Signature Member of American Women Artists and Heartland Art Club, St. Louis, MO in 2019. She received the Snehil Lifetime Achievement Award, Snehilsrijan, India.
