Abstracting Plants with Experimental Watercolor Techniques - ZOOM WORKSHOP

Abstracting Plants with Experimental Watercolor Techniques...welcoming random and surprising elements to the painting process…

Day One: Using photographic images, we will explore techniques to disengage from brush work. With pours of pure colour for optical mixing, we will add and lift resist, to create rich layered paintings.

Day Two: We will begin with quick drawings of fresh plant material. Working on watercolour paper, turning once again to resist and pours, we will introduce some mixed media (inks, pastels, gouache) to build loose, expressive plant portraits.
