Plein Air By Design: Watercolor – LIVE GALLERY WORKSHOP

Instructor: Geoff Allen

Geoff’s philosophy is to practice in the studio for outdoors and practice outdoors for in the studio.

This workshop will focus on the design skills beneficial for creating a strong composition and paint handling so you can create the scene you want in the field. This is especially applicable to the expressive “one go” medium of Watercolor. Studio exercises will deal with sketching, limited value compositions, and paint handling to achieve better plein air results. There will be two plein air demos a day applying studio concepts in the field with a short critique of paintings at the end of the day.
