Moving Towards Abstraction

Leave your rules and preconceived notions at home and join us for some fun on the way to reaching a new level of expression.  You will choose a figure or object - your BFF, your teapot, your dog, yourself, etc. - loosely draw it and use it as a jumping off point for a mixed media adventure.  Get ready to work with paint, acrylic mediums, marking tools and collage to create a dynamic artwork full of color and texture.  We will challenge ourselves to reach toward abstraction with a recognizable object, moving beyond boundaries but respecting the contributions of great artists past and present.
